Cancelling Your Subscription

How to cancel on the web or through Apple, what you keep, and how refunds work

You can cancel at any time. There's no minimum term, no cancellation fee, and no need to tell us why.

You cancel where you subscribed. If you bought through the App Store, cancelling has to happen in Apple ID settings. Financio can't do it for you.

Cancelling a Web Subscription

  1. Go to Settings (gear icon, top right) → Subscription.
  2. Under Manage subscription, click Manage subscription to open the billing portal.
  3. Choose Cancel plan and confirm.

Open Financio in a browser and go to SettingsSubscriptionManage subscription, then choose Cancel plan in the billing portal. The iPhone app can't cancel a web subscription.

You keep full access until the end of the month you've already paid for. The Subscription screen swaps Renews for Expires so you can see the exact date.

Cancelling an App Store Subscription

  1. On the Home tab, tap the gear icon in the top left → Subscription.
  2. Tap Manage / Cancel Subscription to open Apple's subscription sheet.
  3. Tap Cancel Subscription and confirm.

Or go through iOS directly: Settings → your name → SubscriptionsFinancioCancel Subscription.

On your iPhone or iPad: Settings → tap your name → SubscriptionsFinancioCancel Subscription. You can also do it in a browser at apps.apple.com/account/subscriptions.

The Financio web app cannot cancel an App Store subscription. Apple only allows it from your Apple ID.

As with the web, you keep access until the end of the period you've paid for.

What Happens After It Ends

When the paid period runs out, the household's access is limited in exactly the way an expired trial is: you can still sign in, see your subscription, resubscribe and delete your account, but the rest of the app is locked until you subscribe again.

Your data is kept, not deleted. Cancelling does not delete anything. Resubscribe whenever you like and everything is exactly where you left it.

Export Before Access Ends

Data export is locked along with the rest of the app once your subscription expires. If you want a copy of your data, export it while your subscription is still running, not after.

Cancelling Is Not the Same as Deleting

These are two separate things, and doing one does not do the other:

  • Cancelling stops the payments. Your account and all your data stay, and you can come back any time.
  • Deleting your account erases your data permanently.

If you delete your account while a web subscription is running, we cancel it for you as part of the deletion. If you delete your account while an App Store subscription is running, we cannot. Apple keeps charging you until you cancel it yourself. Cancel first, then delete.

Refunds

Web subscriptions. Cancelling stops future payments; the current month isn't automatically refunded, since you keep access for the rest of it. If you think you've been charged in error, contact support.

App Store subscriptions. Refunds are handled entirely by Apple, not by us. Request one at reportaproblem.apple.com. If Apple grants a refund, your Financio access ends when Apple tells us the purchase was revoked.
