Two-factor authentication (2FA) adds an extra layer of security to your account. When enabled, you'll need to enter a verification code in addition to your password when signing in.
Accessing 2FA Settings

Click your profile icon in the top right corner and select Settings.

In the Settings sidebar, click Security.

Locate the Two Factor Authentication section.

Available 2FA Methods
None
No additional verification required. Only your password is needed to sign in.
A verification code will be sent to your registered email address each time you log in.
SMS
A verification code will be sent via text message to your mobile phone.
Mobile Number Required
To use SMS authentication, you must first add a mobile phone number in your Account Details settings.
Authenticator App (Recommended)
Use an authenticator app on your phone to generate time-based verification codes. This is the most secure option.

Setting Up 2FA

Select your preferred authentication method.

Click Update Authentication Settings.

Enter your password to confirm the change.

If you selected Authenticator App, follow the on-screen instructions to scan the QR code with your authenticator app.
Save Your Recovery Codes
When setting up authenticator app 2FA, you'll receive recovery codes. Save these in a secure location - they can be used to access your account if you lose access to your authenticator app.
Disabling 2FA

Select None from the authentication options.

Click Update Authentication Settings.

Enter your password to confirm.
Troubleshooting
Lost access to authenticator app
Use one of your recovery codes to sign in, then set up a new authenticator or choose a different 2FA method.
Not receiving SMS codes
Check that your mobile number is correct in Account Details. SMS delivery can sometimes be delayed - wait a minute and try again.
Not receiving email codes
Check your spam/junk folder. Add noreply@financio.au to your contacts to ensure delivery.
