Net Worth Report

Track your total wealth over time with the Net Worth report

The Net Worth report shows your complete financial picture—all your assets minus all your debts—and how it changes over time. It's one of the most important metrics for understanding your overall financial health.

Understanding Net Worth

Your net worth is calculated as:

Net Worth = Total Assets - Total Liabilities

Where:

  • Assets include bank accounts, investments, property, vehicles, and other valuables
  • Liabilities include loans, credit card balances, and other debts

A positive net worth means you own more than you owe. A negative net worth means your debts exceed your assets.

Accessing the Report

  1. Go to Reports from the main navigation.
  2. Select Net Worth from the report options.

Time Periods

Use the period selector to view your net worth over different timeframes:

PeriodShows
30 daysDaily net worth for the past month
90 daysDaily net worth for the past 3 months
12 monthsMonthly net worth for the past year
5 yearsMonthly net worth for 5 years
10 yearsMonthly net worth for 10 years

The chart will show data points based on the selected period, with more detail for shorter timeframes.

Net Worth Tiles

At the top of the report, four tiles show the breakdown of your net worth:

Cash & Bank

The total of all your bank accounts and cash accounts. This represents your liquid assets—money you can access immediately.

Investments

The total value of all your investment accounts, including brokerage accounts, managed funds, and share portfolios.

Assets

The total value of property, vehicles, jewellery, art, and other valuables you're tracking.

Debts

The total of all your loans and credit card balances. This is shown as a negative number since it reduces your net worth.

Opening Tiles

Click on any tile to see a breakdown of the accounts that make up that category.

Reading the Chart

The line chart shows your net worth over time:

  • Green sections indicate your net worth increased during that period
  • Red sections indicate your net worth decreased
  • Hover over any point to see the exact value and date
  • The percentage change shows how much your net worth has grown or shrunk compared to the start of the period

Table View

Click Table to switch from the chart to a tabular view. The table shows:

  • Date for each data point
  • Net worth value at that point
  • Change from the previous period

This is useful for seeing exact figures and identifying specific dates where significant changes occurred.

Downloading Your Data

Download Chart

Click Download Chart to save the chart as a PNG image. This is useful for including in financial reports or sharing with advisors.

Download CSV

Click Download CSV to export the data as a spreadsheet. The CSV includes:

  • Date
  • Net worth value
  • Each account category breakdown

You can open this in Excel, Google Sheets, or any spreadsheet application for further analysis.

What Affects Your Net Worth

Your net worth changes when:

  • Account balances change — Deposits increase it, withdrawals decrease it
  • Asset values are updated — Property appreciation or depreciation
  • Loans are paid down — Reducing debt increases net worth
  • New debt is added — Credit card spending or new loans decrease it
  • Investment values change — Market gains or losses

Regular Updates

For the most accurate net worth tracking, update your asset values periodically (property, vehicles) and keep your account balances current.

Filtering Accounts

Click the Filters button to select which accounts to include in the report. This is useful for tracking specific goals, like your investment portfolio growth separate from your property.

The Net Worth report supports account filtering only (not categories, merchants, or tags) since it tracks balances rather than individual transactions.

For detailed information on how filters work, see Filtering Reports.

Account Visibility

Only accounts with "Include in Net Worth" enabled will appear in this report. If an account is missing:

  1. Go to Accounts
  2. Click on the account
  3. Click Edit
  4. Ensure "Include in Net Worth" is toggled on
  5. Save your changes
