Share your Financio household by sending email invitations to family members, partners, or anyone you'd like to grant access.
Owner Only
Only the household Owner can invite new members. If you have Full Access or Read Only permissions, you won't see the invite option.
Sending an Invitation

Click your profile icon in the top right corner and select Settings.

In the Settings sidebar, click Household Members.

Click the Invite Member button.

Enter the email address of the person you want to invite.

Select the role you want to assign:
- Full Access - Can view and edit everything
- Read Only - Can view but not make changes

Click Send Invitation.

The person will receive an email with a link to accept your invitation.
What the Invitee Receives
When you send an invitation, the recipient receives an email containing:
- Your name (so they know who's inviting them)
- The role they're being offered
- A link to accept or decline the invitation
- Information about what accepting means for their data
The invitation link is valid for 7 days. After that, you'll need to send a new invitation.
Invitation Statuses
Your pending invitations appear in the Household Members section. Each invitation shows one of these statuses:

| Pending | Invitation sent, waiting for response |
| Accepted | Person has joined your household |
| Declined | Person chose not to join |
| Expired | 7 days passed without a response |
| Revoked | You cancelled the invitation |
Managing Pending Invitations
Viewing Pending Invitations
All pending invitations appear in the Pending Invitations section on the Household Members page. You can see:
- The email address
- The role you offered
- When the invitation was sent
- When it expires
Revoking an Invitation
If you change your mind before someone accepts:
- Find the invitation in the Pending Invitations list
- Click the Revoke button
- Confirm the revocation
The invitation link will no longer work, and the person will see a message that the invitation has been revoked if they try to use it.
Resending an Invitation
If someone hasn't received the email or the invitation has expired:
- Revoke the existing invitation (if not already expired)
- Send a new invitation to the same email address
Inviting Existing Financio Users
If the person you're inviting already has a Financio account, they'll be able to:
- Accept your invitation using their existing login
- Access both their own household and yours
- Switch between households using the household switcher
Their existing data remains separate and private - accepting your invitation doesn't merge accounts.
Inviting New Users
If the person doesn't have a Financio account:
- They'll be prompted to create an account when accepting
- Their new account will be set up with access to your household
- They can also start their own separate household if desired
Troubleshooting
They didn't receive the email
- Ask them to check their spam/junk folder
- Verify you entered the correct email address
- Wait a few minutes - emails can sometimes be delayed
- If still not received, revoke and resend the invitation
The invitation link says it's invalid
- The invitation may have expired (7-day limit)
- You may have revoked the invitation
- The link may have been corrupted - ask them to copy the full URL
They get an error when accepting
- Ensure they're using a supported browser
- Ask them to try signing out and back in
- If they have an existing account, ensure they're logged into the correct one
